ACE Suffolk People First Advocacy Service

Overview of our organisation and the services we offer

ACE is a user led organisation, we have been in Suffolk for over 20 years. We are a  local organisation and have built up contacts and networks in many areas:

ACE is the involvement project for the Suffolk Learning Disability Partnership Board

ACE is a member of SAF- SCODP-and the Suffolk Consortium for User Led organisations and Individual Disabled People

ACE works collaboratively with local and National Charitable Organisations and also with Health, Social care, Mental health, Community organisations, Public services, Commercial sector, Non for profit sector for example social enterprises.

ACE has advocates working all over Suffolk we have built up a fantastic local knowledge. 

The sort of activities we offer

Our Advocacy provision includes, instructed, none instructed, one to one, group, peer, self and independent mental capacity assessment (IMCA)

How the activity is supported:

ACE is a User Led organisation, self advocates are our main source of expertise, they lead, train and guide our staff team which consists of 2 full time advocates 3 part time advocates.

2 advocates currently training for the National Advocacy Qualification

4 full time independent advocates who work with us on our various projects.

ACE have advocates who are trained IMCAS. (Independent Mental Capacity Assessors)

ACE advocates have the NAQ as a minimum qualification

ACE advocates have been doing this work locally, regionally and nationally totalling over 90years experience throughout our team.

Staff are trained to assist in the following:

The Building/Venue is equipped with the following

  • Ramp
  • Automatic doors
  • Level access
  • Lift to upper floors
  • Accessible parking
  • Accessible toilet

Other specialist equipment available: Hoist and Changing facilities are available locally.
