Suffolk Coastal Young People's Project (SCYPPS)

Overview of our organisation and the services we offer

Suffolk Coastal Young Peoples Project or SCYPP's for short is a group for young people with disabilities or additional needsaged between 8 and 18 years old.The group meets every fourth Saturday of the month at Saxmunham Fromus Centre.

We also run a summer playscheme during the summer holidays. This year we will be running the playscheme 3 days a week for 4 weeks. this is for children aged 5-18 years old and we can take siblings in the summer playscheme.

We run from 10.00 -15.00, cost is £17.00 per session and £13.50 for a sibling. your child will need a packed lunch

The sort of activities we offer

Bowling, forest trips, workshops, e.g.music, magic, and arts and crafts, beach trips, boat trips, zoo visits, plus many more

How the activity is supported:

All our staff work with in schools or childcare and have been with us for several years. All staff have first aid training, safe guarding training, some have makaton 

Ratio of staff to children:

there is always a minimum of 4 staff but ratios depend on how many children and

Staff are trained to assist in the following:

  • Personal care
  • Makaton
  • PECS
  • BSL
  • Managing a seizure
  • Administering medication
  • Mobility assistance
  • Managing challenging behaviour
  • Disability awareness

Support statement:

1-1 support may be available and this will be discussed on confirmation of booking.

The Building/Venue is equipped with the following

Children need additional clothing
