Sensational! Arts project

Age: Suitable for child or young person aged 7 to 17.

Provider: Eye Arts Club

Having spent so much time watching screens recently, we plan to run the next project in the real world and focus on all our senses to create new art and movement.  We will focus and celebrate our physical experience and presence in the world, reflecting on vision, hearing, smell, taste and kinaesthetic experience to inspire the creation of artwork and movement. As well as making things, and developing confidence in performing, there will be opportunity to learn animation skills.

We plan to meet in the Vine Church Chapel itself, rather than in the Dove Hall of the Vine Church in Eye where Eye Arts Club usually meets, as the chapel space is larger and better for social distancing. Both the Chapel and the Dove Hall are set up to be Covid-19 Secure, have sanitizer dispensers etc.  We will send out full details Covid-security protocols and risk assessment to participants who sign up this term.

However, for the first session, if the weather is not rainy, we would like to meet at the Town Moors in Eye, to find inspiration in the natural space through fun arts exercises we will lead.  This would be a family activity and primary school aged children would need to be accompanied by an adult.

The dates for this term are Saturdays 10 to 12 noon, 15 May (Eye Town Moors tbc), 29 May, 19 June, 26 June and 10 July (The Vine Church Chapel in Eye).

The cost (towards tutors, materials, venue etc.) will be £10 per person per session or £40 for the whole project, (£8 per session for Concessions or those registered with Activities Unlimited).
