Overview of Service

Established in 2006 PayPacket is fast becoming one of the UK’s leading Fully Managed Payroll Service for Personal Budgets.

We only do Personal Budget Payroll Services and our services are specifically designed to give the service user the support and flexibility needed to allow them to fully enjoy the benefits of Personal Budget without any worries.

We work with over 50 Local Authorities to provide payroll support services for over 3,000 Personal Budget employers and service users, and, make more than 1,000 weekly payments to carers.

We recognise the importance of providing cost effective professional support services and have invested substantially in leading edge managed payroll and ICT systems that enable us to offer value for money, quality assured services to all our customers.

How We Contact You

Contact is made via telephone, email and post.  Home visits are not available but all Service Users will be appointed dedicated support which will enable you and your payroll agent to build a strong ongoing relationship.

All aspects of a payroll service included.  We can provide a weekly or monthly wage payment to your Personal Assistant / Carer.

Normal working hours will be between 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday – Friday. However, we are aware that not all families are available to meet during office hours and therefore staff will be expected to make visits outside of these hours to support the families if necessary. OVERVIEW OF SERVICE

The Rowan Organisation is a user led organisation (ULO) which provides support to disabled people in order to maximise their opportunity for independence.  We provide services which support the use of Personal Budgets  to all eligible groups including disabled people, older people, people with a learning difficulty, people with mental ill-health, children, young people and carers.

BSL and Makaton, Disability Awareness, Empowerment, Creative Communication, Employment Law, Health and Safety, Person Centred Planning, Support Planning and Brokerage, Pova and Poca Safeguarding.

Description

Cost (inc VAT)

Initial Consultation

A free ½ hour consultation to determine what support you require.

This can be done in your own home or by phone and in conjunction with a practioner if you prefer.

Remote PA Set Up

 

If a PA has already been identified, our local team can provide rapid support to ensure the responsibilities of being an employer are met, up to a maximum of 2 visits. This will include Employment Set Up plus advice on a contingency plan to cover disruption of normal arrangements. Access to sample documentation and guidelines.

Hourly Rate

This may include any work undertaken either on a visit or in our office.  For example - Contracts of employment, Budgeting, PA issues, Managing your budget.

Low Level Support Package - Bronze

This offers ongoing support of upto 5 hours working time per year either in home or in the office, which includes 1 home visit if required. This is suitable if a PA is already employed and no recruitment support is required.

Medium Level Support Package  - Silver

This offers initial recruitment and employment setup, upto 17.5  hours working time per year either in home or in the office, which includes 4 home visits if required

High Level Support Package  -Gold

This offers initial recruitment and employment setup, upto 36  hours working time per year either in home or in the office, which includes 12 home visits if required

Plus one years subscription to our information and Advice Line with quarterly newsletters. Access to sample documents and guidelines and re-recruitment if necessary and a fully comprehensive recruitment service.

Overview of Service

We have a wealth of knowledge and experience of supporting people to use their Personal Budget in a variety of ways, including recruiting and employing their own workers.

SIL is a service managed by Equal lives which is a human rights organisation controlled by disabled people and their organisations. Our aim is to give your family the support it needs to live your lives free from disabling barriers.

Staff are trained in the following

Staff are trained in a wide range of subjects, including employment law training, safeguarding, Mental Capacity and Depravation of Liberty, working with people on the Autistic Spectrum, Support Planning, Customer Service, and Samaritans Training. Staff have a varied background of experience, from both inside and outside the social care sector. We actively encourage disabled people to work for us and currently 40% of our work-force are registered disabled.

This service is ideal if you have a Personal Assistant / Carer in mind that you would like to employ, or you do not need support from us to find your own workers

Includes Employment Set up plus setting up and ongoing management of a payroll service and ongoing employment advice. 

£14.40 inc. VAT with a one off £36.00 set up fee.

Employment and Recruitment Package

 

This service is ideal if you would like support to find your own workers, but do not need face-to-face support and advice.

Everything included in the employment package, plus support to recruit your own workers up to 3 times per year.

 

£20.40 per week inc. VAT with a one off £36.00 set up fee.

Employment and Recruitment Plus package

 

This service is ideal if you need face-to-face advice and regular support with your employees.

Everything included in the Employment and Recruitment package, plus face-to-face support with up to 4 home visits per year. All support and advice is provided by your own dedicated advisor, who will also provide you with bi-monthly courtesy calls to check everything is running smoothly.

Holding Account                              

Managed account plus monitoring and record keeping.

£3.00 per week inc. VAT

Assisted Account

Everything in Holding Account plus a named advisor to guide you through your Personal Budget and provide you with alerts to support you with maintaining your account balance. Not suitable for customers who are employing their own workers.

Direct Payment Advice Line               

 

This is a telephone based service, which provides advice and support on all aspects of using a Direct Payment, other than employment.

This service is ideal if you need infrequent advice on using your Direct Payment to use an agency or maintaining your own Direct Payment bank account.

Home Visit

 

We can offer a home visit to discuss your direct payment and the options available whether you are an existing customer or new to us.

 DBS Checking Service

We are a registered umbrella body that supports small employers to carry out DBS checks. This can only purchased if you have one of our employment packages.

HomeCareDirect offer a third party service and employ your chosen personal assistants on your behalf. You’ll still have all the same choice and control yet you won’t have to take on the responsibility (and sometimes the hassles!) of being an employer.

We’re passionate about the personalisation of care, and for over 10 years we’ve been supporting the rights of people to have control over their support at home.

We're a national service that was established in 2003 because we recognised that personal budgets and direct payments give people the chance to choose, employ and organise their own personal assistants – an opportunity to have full choice and control over their support at home.

We’ll ensure your personal assistants are employed in a legal manner, taking on the payroll on your behalf, including all employer’s national insurance, holiday and bank holiday pay, maternity/paternity and sickness pay.

Our community based independent living nurses are qualified nurses with many years of experience of communicating with people with a variety of communication difficulties or disabilities and would always endeavor to communicate with people in the way that was best suited to their individual needs.

As the personal assistants/carers that HomeCareDirect would employ on behalf of the individual would be chosen by them and trained to meet their specific needs if there were communication requirements this requirement would be taken into account in the advertising/recruitment process and fully discussed with the individual.

Services we provide

We’ll ensure your personal assistants are employed in a legal manner, taking on the payroll on your behalf, including all employers national insurance, holiday and bank holiday pay, maternity/paternity and sickness pay.

You will still be in control of your rota and have full choice over who your personal assistants are, these can be people you have already chosen or we can help you recruit new personal assistants.

We will ensure your personal assistants are trained to CQC standard to meet your care needs and if we are unable to provide this training ourselves we will source this training externally for you.

HomeCareDirect is a national service and we are proud to be helping hundreds of individuals and families (and their carers) nationwide to live independently in their own home.

As part of our overall service we will offer full:

Costs

£13.50 - £19.00 per hour of support provided (dependant on the needs of the individual)

HomeCareDirect services cost £3.00 per hour of support provided and this is incorporated into the overall hourly charge, the rest of the overall hourly charge is made up of your personal assistants pay rate and costs that need to be taken into account for training and recruitment.
