A Message from One for All

Published: 25th April 2019

Founded in 2018, One for All is a new registered charity, based in Felixstowe. Its purpose is to provide opportunities for young people with additional needs, aged 16 to 30 from Suffolk, to attend events.

Young people who have a learning or physical impairment, and/or a mental health condition, often have limited opportunities, to access events, that their non-disabled peers may take for granted. There are many reasons, but here are two: they cannot attend, due to their access needs, or because the cost of support to attend events, makes it unaffordable.

One for All aims to provide the means by which all young people can enjoy the same access to events, with their friends, by doing two things:

  • organising and delivering inclusive events; and

  • providing grants to young people, their friends and supporters to attend concerts, football matches, shows, and other similar, life-affirming experiences.

All too often, young people with additional needs miss out on experiences, such as concerts, school proms, and other events, because they are dependent on family, carers or supporters, and costs quickly escalate. Through providing assistance, One for All aims to promote greater independence, by enabling young people to attend those events, that every other young person attends.

One for All’s next event is a Mid-Summer Ball on 22nd June, for all young people, their friends or supporters, at the Orwell Hotel, Felixstowe. The live music and entertainment is being led by Suffolk band, 23X. Your support will help to make this evening a night to remember, and provide life-long memories, for every young person who attends.

All of our events are organised by social work, nursing and social care professionals, with extensive experience of working with disabled young people, in a leadership capacity. The Mid-Summer Ball is being organised in partnership with Achieving Aspirations, an established provider of short breaks for young people with additional needs in Suffolk.

If you know someone who would like to attend, tickets are available from:
